    Tampa Bay BPW Presents:

The Pay Gap, The Confidence Gap and Re-Shaping the Dialogue

Presented by Karen Meyer Buesing, Esquire

    Partner, Akerman LLP

    Tampa, Florida

About the Program: Fifty years after the Equal Pay Act was adopted requiring equal pay for equal work, the gap has narrowed but still exists. While occupational choices, work patterns, demographics and other factors play a role in pay, discrimination is frequently blamed as the primary culprit. But government enforcement statistics tell a different story. Indeed, recent studies and brain research indicate another factor plays a significant role in pay disparities between men and women: the confidence gap. Hear more about:

    •       progress since the Equal Pay Act

    •       results of government enforcement

    •       external and internal factors at work

    •       recent studies and brain science

    •       how we can change the dialogue
